Join us as Senior UI Designer (Design System) in Singapore

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior UI Designer, with 2-3 years of professional experience, to join our Design System team. This pivotal role involves collaborating with designers, product managers, and developers to create functional, scalable, and aesthetically pleasing UI components. As a Senior UI Designer at Ascenda, you will be instrumental in shaping the visual aspects of our products, maintaining a cohesive and efficient design process across Ascenda's products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop functional, scalable UI components that maintain consistency across all Ascenda products.

• Designing with accessibility in mind to ensure that UI designs are accessible to a diverse range of users, including those with disabilities.

• Enhance the efficiency of the design process, allowing for quicker and more effective creation of UI journeys.

• Document design guidelines, components, and interactions to provide a comprehensive reference for the team.

• Work with product managers and designers to understand detailed requirements and developers for handing over design specifications.

• Present and defend designs to peers and stakeholders, articulating design choices and their impact on user experience and accessibility.

• Stay updated with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies, with a focus on accessibility standards and best practices.

What you bring to the table

• A portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills and experience in design systems or component libraries.

• Understanding of UI design principles and responsive design, ensuring designs are accessible and inclusive.

• Experience in design systems, including creating and managing libraries of reusable UI components.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and team members.

• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar.

• Experience in designing for SaaS platforms, especially in the B2B sector.

• Creative problem-solving abilities with a focus on innovative design solutions.

• Bonus: Knowledge or understanding of basic or foundational front-end web development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or related field.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a UI Designer or related role.

• Demonstrable UI design skills with a strong portfolio.

• Experience with creating low and high fidelity design systems.

• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.

• Ability to present designs and persuade stakeholders.

• Up-to-date knowledge of UI trends, techniques, and technologies.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
