Join us as Vice-President, Business Development - North America

Take on an exciting home-office role as Vice-President Business Development for North America.

You will lead the growth of existing Ascenda relationships with major banks and merchants in the region, as well as generate new opportunities and develop a buzzing pipeline.

Collaborating closely with our global teams, you will oversee major initiatives with existing and future new clients, playing a pivotal role in building Ascenda’s brand in the industry and growing the company’s footprint. As a Vice President, Business Development - North America you will:

  • Rapidly grow Ascenda’s footprint in the North America region to secure new client opportunities

  • Engage with existing clients and partners to explore growth opportunities and ensure the seamless operation of their Ascenda platform, growing these relationships profitably

  • Oversee the end-to-end sales process with new clients from first discussion to commercial negotiation, contracting and implementation

  • Ensure flawless new client & partner onboarding

  • Lead business reviews with senior management both internally and with partners

  • Inform the company’s corporate brand, marketing, and communications strategy across owned and paid channels in North America, elevating the visibility and reputation of Ascenda as a technology leader in the space of customer engagement & rewards

  • Develop new product and strategic opportunities, create sales narratives and collaborate with Ascenda’s partnerships teams to attend pitch meetings and industry events

  • Provide strong people leadership and coaching to your cross-functional team


What you bring to the table:

You are an entrepreneurial generalist with the proven ability to commercialize partnerships. You are curious, you love making things happen, and are excited by the opportunity to take on a broad global remit.


You are adept at building relationships, owning and developing partnerships at the senior level, designing & executing marketing strategies, and collaborating across the entire functional spectrum (partner management, marketing, creative & design, operations, product management, and technology) to get things done.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • 12+ years of business experience, of which 5+ years should cover B2B client relationship management, account management, or business development

  • You’re passionate about Sales Ops and Enablement and you’ve done it right to help high potential, high-velocity sales organizations scale, and you know how to avoid the pitfalls

  • Experience in one or several of the following sectors: technology, travel, retail financial services, rewards & loyalty

  • A solid understanding of customer engagement & loyalty strategies across different consumer industries, of the global payments and retail banking landscape, and of digital marketing

  • Proven ability to establish and manage B2B & B2C relationships at the senior level and across cultures, driving win-win commercial outcomes

  • A business development mindset to identify and pitch new strategic opportunities to partners along with the drive to follow through and execute them quickly

  • The ability to think strategically, understand the needs of partners and their consumers to present solutions & campaign concepts that meet their objectives and create mutual commercial benefit

  • In addition to strong relationship management skills, some demonstrated ability of project management is very beneficial

  • Strong drive for action and appetite to create, build and make things happen

  • ​​A team player that can engage in rigorous debate and drive consensus towards well-informed, expeditious decisions

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
